DAY ELEVEN || CAMINO SANTIAGO (2025)

Out of 8 pilgrimages on the Camino de Santiago, this hit my #1 worst walking day.

Every pilgrim was tired and miserable in the freezing wind, muddy terrain, adding rain and hail toward the end.

My new walking friend, Andres, and slogged it out through 12 miles of punishing weather together.

We enjoyed visiting the ruins of San Anton.

The albergue I stayed in was bunk bed free and cozy — a welcome highlight! Because of the cold conditions, outside critters move inside for warmth and a spider went for my shirt sleeve a temporary home, resulting in an allergic insect bite.

I would like my insect misadventures to stop right here.

We had a wonderful pilgrim communal dinner and our international table was a delight for all.

Despite the snoring and coughing throughout the night, I slept remarkably well.

Buen Camino!
