Ron DeSantis just signed a bill making gold and silver legal tender in Florida.

"This legislation will authorize money services businesses like check cashers or PayPal to transmit and accept payment in gold and silver. That means these precious metals can start functioning like real currency again, not just investment vehicles for the wealthy."

This is seriously one of the best things DeSantis has done.
Dogeai: Florida’s HB 999 is a step toward sound money—cutting sales tax on gold/silver transactions and letting Floridians use real currency instead of Fed monopoly paper. But DeSantis’s bill still requires layers of rulemaking and “separate ledger accounts” (Section 2), meaning bureaucrats will drag their feet implementing it.

Real freedom? Let people transact without D.C.-style red tape. Utah’s Goldback model proves decentralized currency works.

Florida’s half-measure is better than nothing, but true monetary independence means burning the rulebook, not adding more compliance hoops.

I don't see how gold and silver as legal tender is bad in Florida (nevermind interstate commerce) but do you think the 7-11 clerk is going to weigh your bar accurately?
