Leviticus 10 Bible Study - The Establishment of the Priesthood - Part 3 - God's Judgment

In this Bible Study, we look at Leviticus 10 and Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons. Why did God kill Nadab and Abihu? What did they do that brought down God’s swift judgment? We also look at the story of Korah in Numbers 16 as well as Annanis and Sapphira in Acts 5. Dave also briefly talks about Alcohol and what the Bible has to say about consuming it.

16:36 - Rule of simplicity or the rule of simplest reading.
The Bible was written (inspired by the Holy Spirit, penned by normal people) for everyday people, blue-collar and doctors alike, to read. Based on this fact, the simplest reading of the text is often the best way of interpreting the text. If there are two theories of the meaning of a text, and in one you have to be a mathematician and know some elaborate coding system to understand it, and the other is what the verse simply says, it is likely B, what the verse actually says.

Acts 5.11 - “Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.” This no doubt further validated the authority of the Apostles, but especially that of Peter. This no doubt unified the believers in the early church

Who were The “Sons of Korah”
Nu 26.11 - Korah’s son’s were spared (through their line, God did some awesome things):

Note: they are listed under “Temple Musicians”

We can not know for certain.
God’s actions with Nadab & Abihu made a clear statement:

We really don’t know.

Why did Aaron and his sons not eat the sin offering as instructed by Moses and by God? Nadab and Abihu died because they disobeyed God, why would you risk his wrath by disabaying the Lord?
Aaron knew the motivation God had in the offerings. They were signs of a relationship in the heart. Aaron would have been lying if he had eaten the offering with the wrong heart.
