Pbks beat mi by 7wickets in ipl25 in Jaipur
The 69th Match of Men’s Tata IPL-2025 was played between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at Sawai Mansingh Stadium Jaipur on 26th May, 2025. In this match Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. In this match Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Mumbai Indians while batting first scored 184 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 185 runs to Punjab Kings to win. In reply Punjab Kings made 187 runs for the loss of three wickets in 18.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.
Mumbai Indians while batting first started well and were doing good at the score of 45 runs in 5.1 overs but Riyan Rickelton was first to go out caught by Shreyas Iyer of the bowling of Marco Jansen after scoring 27 runs from 20 balls hitting 5 fours.
Then Harpreet Brar took the wicket of Rohit Sharma caught brilliantly by Nehal Wadhera and contributed 24 runs from 21 balls hitting 2 fours and one six. Tilak Verma was third wicket to go out cheaply after making one run from 4 balls. He was caught by Arshdeep Singh of the bowling of Vijay Kumar Vyshak.
Will jacks played a gem of innings of 17 runs from 8 balls hitting 2 fours and one six. Vijay Kumar Vyshak took his wicket caught by Marco Jansen. At this stage Mumbai were in dire consequences having lost 4 wickets at the score of 106 runs in 12.3 overs.
Then Surya Kumar Yadav with Hardik Pandya batted cautiously to prevent any further damage and added valuable 44 runs from 23 balls for the 5th wicket and consolidated the MI innings.
Hardik Pandya could not last for long and was fifth to go out after making 26 runs from 15 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Marco Jansen took the wicket of Hardik Pandya caught by Josh Inglis.
Then Surya Kumar Yadav with Naman Dhir tried to start the onslaught on Punjab bowlers and added 31 runs from 17 balls which helped Mumbai to reach the fightable total of 184 runs.
Naman Dhir contributed valuable 20 runs from 12 balls hitting 2 fours. Naman Dhir was removed by Arshdeep Sing caught by Priyansh Arya on the first ball of last over of the innings.
Surya Kumar Yadav played a blinder of the innings and top scored with 57 runs from 39 balls hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Surya was LBW to Arshdeep Singh on the last ball of the innings. Mitchell Santner remained not out one run.
For Punjab two wickets each were taken by Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and Vijaykumar Vyshak. One prize wicket of Rohit Sharma was taken by Harpreet Brar. Mumbai Indians scored 184 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 185 runs to Punjab Kings to win.
While chasing the target Punjab Kings batted superbly and got brilliant start from their openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh who added 34 runs from 26 balls for the first wicket.
Prabhsimran Singh was first to go out caught by Ashwani Kumar of the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah after scoring 13 runs from 16 balls hitting one four and a six.
Then Priyansh Arya with Josh Inglis batted with authority and slaughtered the Mumbai bowlers all over the park. They added 109 runs from 59 balls for the second wicket and laid the solid foundation for Punjab to win.
Priyansh Arya was second wicket to fall after scoring quickfire 62 runs from 35 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes. He was caught by Surya Kumar Yadav of the bowling of Mitchell Santner.
Josh Inglis scored valuable match winning 73 runs from 42 balls hitting 9 fours and 3 six and was third wicket to fall. He was LBW to Mitchell Santner.
Then Shreyas Iyer added unbeaten 16 runs from 6 balls with Nehal Wadhera for the fourth wicket and won the match for Punjab Kings.
Shreyas Iyer played a gem of innings of 26 runs from 16 balls hitting 1 four and 2 sixes and remained not out. Nehal Wadhera also remained not out on 2 runs from 2 balls.
Mitchell Santner bowled well and took two wickets. One wicket was taken by Jasprit Bumrah. Punjab Kings scored 187 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 18.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.
Josh Inglis was given the Player of the Match Award. With this win Punjab Kings have reached to the Top of Points Table with 19 points and have qualified for the Qualifier 1st Match of IPL-2025.
