Andor is the Biggest Hit for Star Wars in Years and They Can't Take It

Never again will there be a story like Andor told by a real storyteller like Tony Gilroy as long as Star Wars is owned by Lucasfilm. A man who didn't want to stuff his show full of cameos and key jangles, instead focused on crafting a coherent narrative, gets labeled as a non fan and made something that isn't REAL Star Wars. So it's back to the slop mines for Ahsoka Season 2 and Dave Filoni's cartoon characters. You get what you deserve.

But the wider audience rewarded Gilroy by having Star Wars chart on the Nielsen Ratings, rather high up, for the first time in years. Andor Season 2 came in 4th for Streaming Originals in its debut week and cracked the overall top 10 in an even bigger surprise. People want good stories and they will go where they are made to watch them. Will they learn this lesson at Disney?
