Humanity & the Limits of Scientific Explanation #2 - Comparing Evolution & Extension Thinking

This continues the audio interview series on the topics of science, philosophy with a focus on 'evolution' and 'extension' thinking. The series questions the limits and possibilities of 'evolution,' not in the natural-physical sciences, but specifically in the social sciences and humanities.

The interviews were conducted before philosopher Subrena Smith published her work challenging the subfield of 'evolutionary psychology.' Against it, Smith published multiple papers contending, in short, that "evolutionary psychology, as it is currently understood, is therefore impossible," due to what she calls a 'matching problem.'

Thus, the question arises: what if there's a 'matching problem' with evolutionary thinking that applies to all social sciences and humanities, in addition to psychology? This question gives new energy to these interviews from last decade conducted with philosophers and scientists. They are now brought together here for the first time with a short introduction and closing remarks.
