The Government Wants To Kill You: The Strategy For Defeating Our Modern Day Philistines
The Government Wants To Kill You: The Strategy For Defeating Our Modern Day Philistines
Good morning, friends. Today, I want to share with you a powerful message that the Lord laid on my heart as I was studying the book of 1 Samuel. This isn’t just an ordinary Bible study; it’s a call to wake up, stand strong, and fix our eyes on the One who can deliver us from the chaos and wickedness we see around us. The world is shifting beneath our feet, governments are acting in ways that threaten our freedoms and lives, and the spiritual battle is more intense than ever. But I want you to know — our God is still on His throne, and He is looking for a faithful remnant who will stand with Him.
Why 1 Samuel? Why Now?
Over the weekend, I was praying and asking the Lord what to focus on. I was drawn back to 1 Samuel, specifically chapters 1 through 7. These chapters tell a story of God’s people facing relentless defeat, spiritual compromise, and a loss of God’s presence — but they also tell a story of repentance, restoration, and victory when the people turn back to the Lord.
In our current situation, I can’t help but see parallels. Authorities are overreaching, natural cures and freedoms are being suppressed, and deception runs rampant. The government’s actions sometimes feel like the Philistines of old, trying to overwhelm and capture God’s people. But just like in Samuel’s time, God’s word is clear: when we put away distractions and false idols, and truly return to Him, He will fight for us.
Hannah’s Prayer of Praise: The Power of Praise in Dark Times
Before diving into the battles and the Ark of the Covenant, I want to highlight Hannah’s prayer in 1 Samuel chapter 2. Hannah, a woman who had endured bitterness and barrenness, prayed a prayer of praise that resonates deeply today:
“My heart rejoices in the Lord; the Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for all my enemies. No one is holy like the Lord. There is no rock like our God.”
This is a reminder to all of us: no matter how dark the situation, praise is our highest form of weapon. Praise brings us into God’s presence, the very inner sanctum of the King of Kings. When the world seems to be falling apart, we don’t panic — we praise. We declare that there is no rock like our God, no one who can rescue us like Him.
The Modern-Day Philistines: Recognizing the Battle
Now, friends, I have to be honest. I didn’t expect to feel this fire this morning. But the more I looked at what’s happening around us — governments poisoning lakes, suppressing, culling healthy ostriches because they have natural antibodies, banning natural cures, injecting cattle and wildlife with unknown substances to trigger a "pandemic" — it became clear that we are in a spiritual and physical battle, just like Israel was with the Philistines.
The recent signing of the World Health Organization’s treaty is a form of tyranny. They posion our natural world, so they can trigger their treaty - It’s a death cult agenda trying to kill not just animals but we the people too. They want to take away natural remedies, restrict freedoms, and impose control. But I say to them: “Woe unto you.” Just as Jesus spoke to the Pharisees and scribes, so I say to those who are proud and arrogant in power — you will not inherit the kingdom of God.
We must have righteous indignation. This is not melodrama; this is reality. They are trying to kill us, and it’s time for the people of God to stand up — in prayer, in voice, and in faith. Every one of us must open our mouths and speak out. This is a spiritual war, and we cannot stay silent.
Lessons from 1 Samuel 4: The Ark of the Covenant and the Consequences of Disobedience
In 1 Samuel chapter 4, we see Israel facing the Philistines in battle. They are losing, suffering massive casualties — 4,000 dead in one battle, 10,000 in another, and 30,000 in yet another. The people decide to bring the Ark of the Covenant into battle, thinking it will guarantee victory. But this was not God’s command. They were acting on their own assumptions, not on His instructions.
The Ark was sacred and had to be handled only by the priests, with reverence and obedience. But the people’s pride and desperation led them to misuse it. The result? The Ark was captured, the sons of Eli (the priests) were killed, and the people’s morale plunged even further. Eli himself died of shock when he heard the news.
This teaches us an important lesson: God’s presence and power cannot be manipulated or taken for granted. We must approach Him with reverence, humility, and obedience — not presumption or arrogance. Trying to use God as a “good luck charm” or a weapon without true faith and obedience will only lead to defeat.
Ebenezer: The Stone of Help and a Call to Remember God’s Faithfulness
One of the most powerful moments in 1 Samuel is when Samuel sets up a stone called Ebenezer, which means “stone of help.” After a victory over the Philistines, Samuel declares:
“The Lord has helped us up to this point.”
This stone was a physical reminder, an altar, to help the people remember God’s faithfulness in the midst of trials. It’s a call for us today to establish our own “Ebenezer” — a symbol or altar in our lives that reminds us that God has helped us through every battle, every dark season.
Every time we see that stone, we remember to fix our eyes on God, not on the distractions or the enemies around us. It’s a spiritual discipline to keep us grounded and focused on the One who fights for us.
Cutting Out the Distractions: Destroying Our Modern-Day Foreign Gods
Samuel’s message to Israel was clear: if you want to return to the Lord, get rid of your foreign gods and idols. Today, that might not look like statues or images, but it could be anything that distracts us from God’s presence. For me, I confess my “foreign god” is checking crypto prices in the morning — a distraction that steals my focus from God.
What are your distractions? Social media? News? Horoscopes? False prophets? We must identify these idols and put them aside. They pull our eyes away from the Commander of Heaven’s armies and weaken our spiritual strength.
For the church today, this means more than just a casual commitment. It means a serious, no-compromise return to God. It means refusing to be swayed by popular voices that prioritize performance, likes, or donations over purity and truth. It means seeking God directly, not through filtered or biased channels.
The Power of Repentance and Unity: Gathering at Mizpah
In 1 Samuel 7, the people of Israel gather at Mizpah to repent and seek God’s help. They confess their sins, put away their foreign gods, and fast. Samuel prays and offers a burnt offering, and the Lord responds with a mighty thunder that confuses the Philistines, leading to a great victory.
This moment shows us that genuine repentance and unity under God’s leadership bring breakthrough. When we humble ourselves, turn from distractions, and seek God wholeheartedly, He fights for us and gives us victory over our enemies.
Standing Bold and Courageous in the Midst of Chaos
God’s word through Samuel is a call to boldness and courage. He says:
“Be bold and courageous. I will be with you wherever you go.”
We don’t have to rely on our own strength. In fact, none of us can succeed by might or power alone. Our victory comes by the Spirit of the Lord. The enemies we face — whether governments, corrupt systems, or spiritual forces — will be shattered when we stand with God.
So today, I release this mantle of boldness and courage over you. Do not fear the giants or the Philistines of our day. Speak to the mountains of oppression, speak to the lies, and command them to be removed in the name of Jesus Christ.
Practical Steps: Establish Your Own Ebenezer
Here is what I want to encourage you to do starting today:
Set up a physical reminder — a stone, an altar, or any object that reminds you daily that God has helped you and will continue to help you.
Identify and remove distractions — what are the “foreign gods” in your life? Put them aside when you come to seek God.
Commit to daily praise — no matter what you’re going through, praise brings you into God’s presence and equips you for battle.
Gather in unity and repentance — connect with fellow believers who will encourage you to stay focused and strong.
Speak boldly and courageously — declare God’s promises over your life, your family, and your nation.
Conclusion: The Lord Will Help Us If We Keep Our Eyes on Him
Friends, the message of 1 Samuel is clear and urgent. We are surrounded by modern-day Philistines trying to steal, kill, and destroy. But God is greater. He is our rock and our refuge. He has never failed us, and He never will.
We must stop giving lip service to God and start living in wholehearted obedience and faith. Get rid of distractions, set up your Ebenezer, and fix your eyes on the Lord. When we do, He will fight for us, and we will see victory.
Let us rise up as a faithful remnant. Let us speak boldly and courageously. Let us praise God in the midst of the storm. And let us remember every day that our God is the God of help — the One who has brought us through every battle and will continue to do so.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. Amen and hallelujah.
