In lab tests, animals exposed to potassium bromate had increase of both benign & malignant tumors in the thyroid & peritoneum, the membrane lining the abdominal cavity. Later research found that ingesting the additive increased cancer of the animals’ thyroid, kidneys & other organs significantly.
