We at Infinity Foundation are deeply grieved at Vrinda's passing away and we dedicate this series as a homage to her memory and love for our Bharatiya sanskriti.

Noted Carnatic Vocalist Vidushi K. Vrinda Acharya explains the significance of Non-translatable terms related to (South) Indian Music or Carnatic Music. She elaborates on the wisdom and intensity of these technical terms, how they are integrated with the ethos of Sanatana Dharma and why it is not okay to replace them with simplistic English translations. She also observes that retaining the original terms as non-translatables is very essential to prevent the digestion of Carnatic music into World music.
