Lama Dawa Zangpo’s Commentary:
The Buddha here is showing us that the eightfold noble path is an integrated whole system, and here he is specifically addressing right meditation, or sometimes called right concentration, but he's showing that our view, our intention, our speech, our action, everything in our life converges and reinforces, and supports our meditation practice. That meditation is not done as an isolated thing that we just do by itself. It's part of our life. It's woven into the entire fabric of our life and by bringing all of these other qualities up, we also raise up the quality of our meditation. As the famous saying goes, a rising tide lifts all the ships. So in this way, the ship of meditation is supported by the other factors of the noble eight fold path.
