This month's song is Nakamori Akina's "SOLITUDE." It is a single record released on October 9, 1985. In Japan, the Equal Employment Opportunity Law came into force in 1986. Until then, the average woman played a supporting role in the workplace and was not on the path to success. It was common for women to get married by the age of 24, and women over 25 were likened to "unsold Christmas cakes." Released in the midst of such an era, "SOLITUDE" portrayed a strong woman who would not give the initiative to men. I saw in this song the image of the woman of the future. 今月の曲は中森明菜｢SOLITUDE｣。昭和60(1985)年10月9日に発売されたシングルレコードです。日本で男女雇用機会均等法が施行されたのは昭和61(1986)年。それまで一般的な女性は職場では補助的な立場であり、出世コースとは無縁の存在でした。女性は24歳までに結婚するのが一般的で、25歳を過ぎると｢売れ残りのクリスマスケーキ｣に例えられました。そのような時代の空気の中で発表された｢SOLITUDE｣が表現する女性像は男性に主導権を渡さない強い女性でした。私はこの歌の中に未来の女性像を見たのです。女性が人生の主役になっていいんだ。この価値観の転換は大きな流れになって現在に続きます。
