Michiyo Azusa, a representative female singer of Japan who was the first in the entertainment industry to perform a popular song in front of the Emperor since the Meiji era, passed away in January 2020 at the age of 76. Among the many songs that Michiyo Azusa sang, the most shocking was "Futari de Osake wo - Lets Ｄrink Another One ". After singing the first verse, she sat cross-legged on stage, which surprised the audience, as cross-legged sitting is the traditional way men sit. The song describes a mature adult breakup. "Konnichiwa Aka-chan - Hello Baby," released in 1963, was a big hit, but after that, she didn't have any other hits. However, this song, released in 1974, became a huge hit. It's a classic that doesn't feel dated even when you listen to it now.

明治時代以降、芸能界初の天覧歌謡曲を歌った日本を代表する女性歌手 梓みちよは令和2(2020)年1月に76歳で帰らぬ人となりました。梓みちよが歌った数多くの曲の中で衝撃的だったのが｢二人でお酒を｣。歌詞の1番を歌ったら、ステージで胡坐をかいて歌うスタイルです。胡坐は男性の座り方とされていたので、聴衆はビックリ。内容は成熟した大人の別れを描いたものです。昭和38(1963)年に発表した｢こんにちは赤ちゃん｣は大ヒットしましたが、それ以降はヒットに恵まれませんでしたが、昭和49(1974)年に発表したこの曲で見事な大ヒットになりました。いま聞いても時代を感じさせない名曲です。
