Today’s Scripture reading is Joshua 6. After crossing the Jordan River, ancient Jericho became the first fortified city to be conquered.
Joshua warned the people that the city was accursed, with one exception: “Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent” (Joshua 6:17).
