Afghanistan Fentanyl

US politicians have learned through the years that though the opium trade has made many wealthy beyond their dreams, there are too many risks involved that threaten the continuity of the flow of loot. Enter Fentanyl. The long marriage with Afghanistan became a liablility when Fentanyl production became a prominent competitor. It has the advantage of being synthetic and not requiring enormous fields of poppies. It also is more compact and easier to transport. Thus, divorce from Afghanistan became the natural way forward.
