The Apple of God's Eye? Don't Poke God in the Eye!

Zechariah 2:8 “ thus says the LORD of hosts:
"… he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”

The eye is an amazing organ in our body. But very sensitive if poked or touched.

What is meant by the ‘apple of God’s eye”? And who is ‘you’?
Is it spiritual leaders? All Christians? Israel?
