The term “infallible” generally means incapable of making mistakes or being wrong.

Scholars, especially those in academic fields such as biblical studies, history, and archaeology, tend to recognize that the Bible contains inconsistencies, contradictions, and passages that reflect the worldviews of ancient peoples.

The Bible, particularly the Old and New Testaments, has undergone centuries of transmission, during which there have been variations and copyist errors.

Paul for example, wrote 14 out of the 27 books of the New Testament. Paul the man that never met Jesus pbuh in person.

The Quran is considered the literal and unaltered word of God (Allah), revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It’s the final and most complete revelation from God to humanity. It is viewed as the ultimate source of guidance for all aspects of life, including faith, practice, morality, and law.

The Quran is a dictation. The speaker in the Quran is in the first person, God talking directly to man. The Bible as we now know it was mostly compiled at the Council of Nicea in 325. In the Bible you have many men writing about God and you have in some places the word of God speaking to men and still in other places you have some men simply writing about history.

God speaks about those who altered the Bible which includes the Torah (given to Moses), and the Gospels (the Ingil given to Jesus pbuh in the Quran:

“So woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say: ‘This is from Allah ’ in order that they may sell it for a miserable price. So woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for their earnings.” [Quran 2:79]

“Indeed, amongst them are a party that distort the Book with their tongues as they read it, so that you may think that it is part of the Book whereas it is not from the Book. And they say: ‘This is from Allah,’ but it is not from Allah; and they forge a lie against Allah knowingly.” [Quran 3:78-79]

Speaker: Ahmed Deedat. A comparative religious scholar.
