The Word by Dr Mmachukwu Kingsley : Prophets Need Power

The prophetic ministry is a very sensitive ministry. Of all the ministry offices, it is the most delicate and requires utmost vigilance by the minister involved to function according to the precepts and the principles of the Father.

Christianity demands the power of God this is much more important for Christian ministers. God intended that His Church should function by His power.

Acts 1:8:
⁸ But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

To the extent to which the power of God is lacking among the people of God to that extent there is a falling short of what we are meant to be and meant to preach .

The greatest limitation of the Church is not lack of witnessing , it is not a poor presentation of the Gospel , it is not even the lukewarmness of God's children (though a very serious matter indeed). The greatest weakness of the Church is a lack of the power of God , that power which convicts the heart of the sinner and compels him to cry out to the Lord for forgiveness and salvation .

1Cor 4:20:
²⁰ For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

it is the duty of every Christian especially the ministers to seek to know God and to walk in His power. On the day of Pentecost, every person in the upper room received the baptism of the Holy Spirit , not just that apostles.

Acts 1:4-5:
⁴ And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
⁵ For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

This promise was not made to the pastors ,teachers ,evangelists ,prophets or apostles alone ,but to all who were gathered , listening to the Lord Jesus Christ at the time of His ascension .

It is our fervent prayer that as you listen to our messages, there will begin to stir up in your heart also ,by the ministration of the Holy Spirit , a fervent desire for something more , much more , than we have experienced or known hitherto .
