Salt Causes HTN?

How does salt raise blood pressure 🤔?
1. I will argue that it is possible if glucose and fructose are on board
2. Salt activates the polyol pathway in the liver, converting excess glucose to fructose.
3. High fructose leads to high uric acid.
4. High uric acid blocks #Nitricoxide production by the endothelial cells of the arteries.
5. NO is a vasodilator. So, if NO is low, there is less vasodilitation, and blood pressure goes up.

In addition, glucose raises insulin. Insulin causes salt and water retention. Salt and water retention raises bp.
