Herd Immunity; How #MandatoryCarry Works.
“Gun” (race) control “experts” (ya, NO) claim that gun violence is a public health issue is a public health issue in the same way that disease is; No. ALL violence is a public health issue, in that case.
The logical solution to a disease outbreak is of course mass immunization; Here’s how it works:
First, let’s review basic (individual) immunization:
❝Vaccination is the administration of antigenic material (a vaccine) to stimulate an individual's immune system to develop adaptive immunity to a pathogen. Vaccines can prevent or ameliorate infectious disease. When a sufficiently large percentage of a population has been vaccinated, herd immunity results. The effectiveness of vaccination has been widely studied and verified. Vaccination is the most effective method of preventing infectious diseases; widespread immunity due to vaccination is largely responsible for the worldwide eradication of smallpox and the elimination of diseases such as polio, measles, and tetanus from much of the world.❞ (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccination)
The way this works is the individual is given a very small dose of dead or disabled disease, a controlled amount that allows the body to understand and respond to the threat.
In the context of violence as a public health risk, a gun for self-defense is the vaccine.
Why #MandatoryCarry works is a related concept called “herd immunity”; ❝Herd immunity (also called herd effect, community immunity, population immunity, or social immunity) is a form of indirect protection from infectious disease that occurs when a large percentage of a population has become immune to an infection, thereby providing a measure of protection for individuals who are not immune. In a population in which a large number of individuals are immune, chains of infection are likely to be disrupted, which stops or slows the spread of disease. The greater the proportion of individuals in a community who are immune, the smaller the probability that those who are not immune will come into contact with an infectious individual.❞ (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herd_immunity see also attached video.)
Everyone understands violence is not a good solution to any situation.
Pro- or anti-gun, we all understand this concept.
Mandatory Carry works as “herd immunity” against violence, both random and targeted. If would-be murderers KNOW there’s a probability of the intended victim being armed, or of others around them being armed, they are far more likely to think twice about their intentions; Even the fairly laughable idea that they’ll simply bring bigger guns doesn’t work here, since they STILL know there’s a better than even chance of them being dead, from multiple directions, and without the niceties of restrictions.
