Trump’s Bans Harvard’s Foreign Students, Pushes MAGA Megabill

The Trump administration shocks academia by barring Harvard University from enrolling foreign students, declaring it a privilege, not a right. Foreign student enrollment is a privilege. A privilege can be taken, a right cannot. The state gives you a privilege to have a license to drive, they can take it away. You do not have a right to come to this country. You don’t have a right to enroll in our schools. You have a right to safety protections, just like anyone. It is a privilege to be in the school, to allow you into the country. Trump has decided that Harvard can no longer have that privilege.
The House sent the Big Beautiful Bill over to the Senate. The senate only has to have 51 votes to end debate in reconciliation which can be only used one time a year surrounding budget items otherwise it would be 60 votes to end debate. If the Senate changes a word in this bill it will have to go back to the House for approval. The senate could vote it out of committee and move to the floor unchanged and vote on it. The final passage is if both chambers agree on a final version of the bill it is sent to the president.
Mike Johnson made the deal in MAL and he got the bill done. Trump went to the Hill with Johnson going door to door selling the MAGA Megabill. Senate GOP preps for one big beautiful rewrite.
The Megabill extends $4.5 trillion in tax cuts from Trump's first administration. Eliminating income taxes on tips and overtime. Billions for funding for border wall and mass deportations. Remember Trump had to fight and fight to get a dollar to build the wall. He wanted to build the wall through tariffs in mexico. The money couldn't get allocated. Then Joe Biden comes in and 20 million walk across the border. This bill has the money to build the fencing/wall and we will have the money to get all the illegals out of here. Changes to Medicaid include work requirements for all able-bodied adults without dependents to stay on the program.
