Beware of Ewoks: The Star Wars Hoverbike Is No Longer Sci-Fi

The dream of flying through the sky on a hoverbike like in Star Wars just came one step closer to reality. Polish inventor Tomasz Patan has revealed the Vollonot Airbike, a jet-powered flying machine with a sci-fi vibe and serious engineering chops.

Built with 3D-printed parts and a carbon fiber frame, the Airbike ditches visible propellers and uses four jet turbines to lift off vertically. It’s loud, fast, and not quite street legal — but it’s a bold step toward personal flight. And Patan’s no stranger to this space: he’s also behind the popular @Jetsonaero channel and the Jetson One aircraft, already taking the flying car world by storm.
