Dr Dre attends the opening of a $200M campus for Compton High School.

NEW: Dr. Dre joined school and community leaders to celebrate the opening of a $200 million campus for Compton High School.

The music icon, whose real name is Andre Young, attended and spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning to mark the opening of the Andre ‘Dr. Dre’ Young Performing Arts Center.

The Compton native donated $10 million to help fund this new state-of-the-art performing center that now bears his name.
