MAT 7:23, “And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from ME, you who practice lawlessness!”
“The Jews picked up stones again to stone HIM.”Why? Blasphemy was a crime punishable by death according to Jewish Law.When Yeshua asked why they were planning to kill HIM, they answered, “For blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be GOD”.
COL 1:16-17 confirms or affirms this: In HIM all things were created: Things in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; ALL things have been created through HIM and for HIM. HE is before All things, and in HIM ALL things hold together.”
Truth is truth it has always been truth, truth will always be truth and here is the key to Truth: Truth is Truth whether one believes it or not.
Elohim most often used to refer to the one true GOD, Yahweh is referred to as the Elohim above all Elohim PSA 95 and elsewhere, but it does have other uses.Other uses of the term Elohim include those who are Judges. That is the reference in PSA 82:6.
The LORD said those leaders were indeed appointed to lead, be human authorities, judges regarding GOD’s Laws. So, they were gods, Elohim. However, they would die just like every human being. So, this is not a reference to being little gods. Like some people teach.
GOD has appointed men to positions of authority in which they are considered as gods among the people. These judges, officials…today’s politician etc., regardless of how they got the power, that power came ultimately from GOD. GOD has allowed it for various reasons, HIS Purposes. Human rulers are to remember that, even though they may not believe it, they are mortal and must eventually give an account to GOD for how they used that authority.
The authorities in Jerusalem were eager to see Yeshua die. The memory of the ministry of John the Baptist, who had been executed some time before, was still alive. They remembered the Baptist’s being a prophet, a witness who announced the Messiah.
John responded, by quoting the words of the Prophet Isaiah: “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the LORD’… “ I baptize in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know. It is HE who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” (JOH 1:23-27)
The story begins by introducing Lazarus. Lazarus in Hebrew is El ah zar: = GOD will help. Lazarus was from Bethany = house of the poor.He resided in Bethany or Beit Aniah in Hebrew, which means something like the House (or place) of the poor.
What better act to proceed the events of the atonement, death, and resurrection than the anointings performed by these two faithful women a woman!Mark’s and Matthew’s accounts places the anointing by the unnamed woman two days before the Passover.
In a culture where a woman’s voice or opinion was rarely heard let alone respected, Yeshua wants the men to understand the importance of what these women did…Yeshua said about their action: “Truly I tell you, wherever the Gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
