Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, and her husband, Prince William, Crown Prince of Wales, attended the official naming ceremony of the new Royal Navy warship HMS Glasgow in Scotland. In the traditional ceremony, she announced the name of the ship by breaking a bottle of Scotch whisky on the hull. The act is part of a British maritime tradition to wish good luck to the ship and its crew.

The royal couple met with factory workers, apprentices and representatives from the Royal Navy, as part of their efforts to support social and military projects in the country.

The Princess of Wales wore a navy blue dress with white stripes by Susanna, inspired by the formal dress of the British Royal Navy.

She wore a Suzannah London. She completed her look with a hat from the Philip Treacy brand.
