I Cor 6:1-18

The Bible proves here and elsewhere that in this dispensation of grace, salvation occurs in a moment and is irrevocable, and Paul is our pattern. Discover Paul's use of juxtaposition and paradox that inspired generations of poets after him. We examine patience, afflictions, necessities, distresses, stripes, imprisonments, tumults, labors, watchings, and fastings.

We'll look at Jacob's distress, the conditions he offered in response to God's unconditional promises, and discuss when it might have been that Jacob came to saving faith in God. Find out the difference between being "straightened" versus being "straitened". And find out the history of the myth against starting a sentence with the word "and", and the pre-darwinian meaning of the word "bowels."

Does "unequally yoked" apply primarily to marriage? What is a minister and a ministry? Who is the "temple "Temple of the Living God?" And what is the "Temple of the Holy Spirit?" And what can we learn from the uncanny fact that Paul consistently quotes the Old Testament out of context, and often changes the words?

God's purpose for mankind was established before the creation, and no matter who was ever justified by any means, that purpose was always the same: "he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love…” Eph 1:4
