In what can only be described as a love letter to the black-lipsticked heart of underground nightlife, DJ Cracker Jacks drops Pretty Little Lies! A brooding, neon-lit mosaic of remixes and mashups that feels like a haunted rave echoing through a necropolis of distortion.

Opening with the unsettling beauty of Dead Crystals by ALR's newest artists Blood Tape, the album immediately casts a spell. The track’s synths and decaying samples throb like broken street lights, setting the stage for the night that follows. It iss an evocative prelude: eerie, cinematic, and full of the kind of anguish that makes goth so gloriously addictive.

From there, DJ Cracker Jacks deftly weaves remixes and collaborations with a rotating cast of shadow-dwellers. SKUL brings his signature razor-edge industrial grime on “Dirge (Dead n Bloated Mix),” while Rily N’so injects warped ethereal textures into “Touched,” turning a forgotten B-side into a midnight anthem. Every track is drenched in reverb, noise, and probably in all liklyhood, a spilled drink or two.

Stylistically, Pretty Little Lies is as much a statement of identity as it is a party mix. It flirts with Darkwave, post-punk, industrial, and even splashes of lo-fi techno, yet it never loses its cohesive dread. The transitions are seamless, stitched together with samples, glitching voicemail clips, and distorted 90s pop culture.

Released by Angel Lobotomy Records... a label already known for embracing the weird and wicked, the album lands on World Goth Day like a ceremonial knife: dramatic, bloody, stylish, and right into your heart.

Verdict:
8.5/10 – Pretty Little Lies is a decadent, doom-laced celebration of collaboration and subculture. DJ Cracker Jacks proves that beneath every beat lies a secret, that sometimes lies sound better than the truth.
