Week 17 Tutorial: David's Final Days (2 Samuel 22–24; 1 Chronicles 21–29; 1 Kings 1–2; Psalms x28)

Week 17 Readings of our 2025 Chronological Bible-in-a-Year Reading Challenge have us closing out our five-week focus on the life of King David, as we finish up the Books of Samuel and 1 Chronicles.

In this tutorial, Chad addresses some of the common questions raised by Bible-readers concerning King David's infamous census; the preparations made by David for the construction and operation of God's Temple; and the, relatively smooth, succession of kingship to Solomon.

We also make a start on the Book of Kings which, much like 1 and 2 Samuel, provide more of the 'gritty detail' of the lives of Israel's royal rulers, than the Chronicler cares to share.
