Note: IF your companions kill achievement related monsters it will not count towards the total you killed for the achievement.
So if you want all the cheevo's the fastest way have no companions with you when killing creatures / mobs.

This also apply to Bane of the Beasts and Big Game Hunter Cheevo's.
So even though i mark them as such doesn't mean that it counts.
This is to ensure it becomes obvious for the viewer and content creator that's about to play the game.

So sample: I killed 12 giant crabs so far [13/10] which shows that my companions killed atleast 2 giant crabs if not more.
Once the cheevo pop i will know exactly how many the companions have killed!
So let's say i unlock it at [20/10] then my companions killed 10 of them.

Another Note: For the Pet Cemetery achievement.
Turkeys do NOT count towards the pet cemetary nor do Rats
Atleast it appears to be that way since i've currently got [27/20]
