This has allowed safe reloading for all since our reloading manual data specified powder by weight. And through those decades, we've been amazed at the benchrest shooters who reload their brass casings 40 or 50 times, and dispensed their powder by volume to fill the case capacities behind their bullets seemingly in contrarian to the rest of us who were still methodically trickling up precise powder charges. Today, we yet have scales that can weigh to the hundredth of a grain for even better accuracy by weight. Weight still reigns for us for the same safety concerns, but we are moving toward the volume concepts by finding powder nodes whereby changes in powder charges cause little or no variation of fps. And then we can throw those volumes with confidence that long range performance is enhanced.
