Barber Uses “Baby Shark” to Deter Homeless in LA
Los Angeles, CA –
Amid the growing urban decay of Los Angeles, a local small business owner has turned to creativity—and a fair amount of desperation—to tackle a problem city officials continue to ignore: the constant presence of homeless encampments outside his shop.
The owner of Styles Barbershop, located on 11th Street in the Fashion District, has resorted to blasting the children’s song “Baby Shark” on loop through external speakers mounted on his building to discourage homeless individuals from setting up tents outside his storefront. While the move has sparked controversy among some passersby, the barber insists it was a last resort after exhausting every other avenue.
“I tried everything. I talked to the building owners, to property managers, to Fashion District security, to the police... and nothing changed,” the shop owner said. “It’s annoying—for me. But it’s also annoying what they’re doing to my business.”
Downtown LA's Collapse
This barber is not alone. Across downtown Los Angeles, thousands of small and family-owned businesses are fighting a daily battle against lawlessness, public drug use, and the growing threat posed by homeless encampments. What was once a vibrant commercial area is now a chaotic, unrecognizable zone.
Business owners report having to clean up drug needles before opening, deal with aggressive individuals outside their doors, and suffer sharp drops in customer traffic. “Sometimes I sweep syringes off the sidewalk before unlocking the door,” said another shop owner nearby. “It’s out of control.”
Despite paying taxes, licenses, and city fees, these businesses feel completely abandoned by a government that appears more concerned with political correctness than public safety.
Soft Policies, Hard Consequences
Local officials—predominantly from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party—have enacted lenient policies that prevent the removal of illegal camps, even in commercial districts. Under the guise of “protecting rights,” they’ve created a culture of lawlessness that punishes hard-working citizens while enabling chaos.
The use of “Baby Shark” isn’t about cruelty—it’s a symbol of frustration, of everyday Americans forced to take matters into their own hands while the state turns a blind eye.
It’s not about music. It’s about survival.
The “Progressive” City’s Failure
The contrast is glaring. While the city boasts of “humanitarian efforts” and pours millions into ineffective housing programs, the streets are filled with filth, fear, and hopelessness. The result? A mass exodus of business owners, declining tourism, and an overwhelming sense of insecurity.
The barber says he means no harm, but he refuses to let his business be destroyed. “It’s not fair. We work. We keep our shops clean. We try to survive in this city... and we’re the ones being called cruel for playing a song?”
Many Americans share his outrage: they’re tired of a system that punishes productivity and rewards failure, a system that forgets the working man.
With Trump, It Was Different
Under Trump’s leadership, support for law enforcement was strengthened, cities were safer, and policies were put in place to protect the rights of business owners—not lawbreakers.
Now, with Trump back in office, many Americans are hopeful for a return to strong leadership, clean cities, and a government that protects the backbone of this country: those who work hard.
