XCOM 2 MISSION REPORT
OPERATION: HAMMER WALK
Location: Outskirts of Los Angeles – Deserted Suburbia near Ventura Line
Objective: Sabotage Alien Relay / Eliminate All Hostiles
Squad Codename: Phantom Vengeance
Outcome: Success – All Enemies Neutralized
Difficulty: Very Difficult

PRE-MISSION BRIEF:
Central:

“They’re trying to light up LA again—Advent’s planning to rewire an old commuter rail node to serve as a psionic signal booster. We need to shut it down before they flood the grid with their mind-control tech. We’re dropping you just outside the old metro yard.”

Skyranger touched down at dawn. The city was dead quiet, except for the faint hum of Advent tech. Broken palm trees swayed. Burned-out suburbia all around. A billboard still flickered: “Find Your Dream Home!”

Joe muttered, “American dream, dead on arrival.”

FIRST CONTACT – “THE WALKERS”
Kristin Kreuk moved like a ghost—recon through overgrown alleyways. “Visual on Mutons and Stun Lancers. Four of them. Moving in a grid.” T-Bird readied his cannon. “Let’s light the candle.”

Maverick gave the nod. Joe deployed the Gremlin, launching a drone EMP into the Advent relay. Sparks flew—clock started ticking.

The squad lit up the Mutons with synchronized precision. Indy took a rooftop perch, sniping a Lancer through the skull clean. Kristin raised her hand and split a Viper’s mind open with her psi-lance—blue fire shot from her eyes.

Maverick: “You ever do that in Smallville?”
Kristin: “No, but it’s in the director’s cut.”

THE COUNTERATTACK – SPECTRE STALKERS
The relay started pulsing. Something else came with the signal.

SPECTRES.
Dark-cloaked psionic shades emerged, one cloning T-Bird’s body into a shadow. It whispered with Travolta’s voice, “Let’s do the time warp again.”

“Hell no,” T-Bird barked. “I danced with Olivia, not you.”

He blew up a gas station wall, destroying the clone in an inferno. The real John Travolta laughed through the smoke: “Now that’s staying alive.”

FRIDGE POWER: THE TECH BREAKTHROUGH
Joe “Fridge” Jukic hacked the relay remotely. “Their firewall’s a joke.”
Indy: “You sure you’re not working with them?”
Joe: “Only thing I work with is a sandwich and a side of vengeance.”

He shut the relay down and reprogrammed the signal to pulse backwards—temporarily stunning all Advent troops in the area.

Tom Cruise dashed in with a sword to finish off the Sectoid Commander. “Tell your psionic god we said hi.”

MISSION WRAP-UP:
All hostiles down. The relay shattered. LA’s outskirts would remain dark—but free—for a little longer.

Kristin found an old burned-out school bus. Her fingers touched the rusted names of kids long gone.
“Whoever they were… they didn’t deserve this.”

Joe sat down beside her.
“No one does. That’s why we fight.”
