Walking to İzmit in Torrential Rain | Türkiye Walk Day 12-16

This has by far been the most miserable part of walking across Türkiye up to this moment. ‪@Chubbytrekka‬ and I spent two days walking to İzmit in relentless rain—and everything went wrong.
The roads kept disappearing, maps were completely off, and we had to backtrack for hours. At one point, we were forced to walk along active train tracks just to keep moving. Soaked to the bone and freezing cold—we pushed on until I ended up getting sick from the cold and exhaustion.
The rain didn’t stop. The wind was brutal. We were completely drenched, and eventually had to take two full rest days to recover. This is the harsh reality of walking the length of Türkiye.
