Psalm 23:1 KJV ~
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."

" I only follow Jesus!"

1 Corinthians 11:1 ~ "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ."

The occasional bad leadership, does not necessitate discontinuing following a spiritual leader.

Here are three verses that speak to submitting (oh how we dislike the word) to godly leadership:

1. 1 Corinthians 16:16 - "That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth."

2. Hebrews 13:17 - "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you."

3. 1 Peter 5:5 - "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

EVERY ARMY, HAS A LEADER.
EVERY FLOCK, HAS A SHEPHERD.
EVERY FAMILY, AS A PARENT.
EVERY SHIP HAS A CAPTAIN.
EVERY TEAM HAS A COACH.
THIS IS GOD'S DESIGN, NOT MANS.

The Lord is my shepherd...I will follow

We are the sheep of this pasture

Follow me as I follow Christ

It's not wrong to be a follower

It's not wrong to be a leader

All of us lead are in some way to others. And all of us are in some way to follow another.

Think of it mathematically. The scripture tells us to quote not be many teachers " that means, there are less leaders than there are followers. There are supposed to be sheep and shepherds. That's the way God designed it. If everyone is a shepherd then no one is a sheep.

Following takes humility. And leaders must have an abundance of humility, or they will eventually fall into pride. We serve a humble King. He expects us to be humble as well. Humility is learned in the place of following a leader. And when you follow a leader you are following in the direction there going, that is, the vision of where the Lord wants us to go.

From the very beginning we follow our parents not always understanding annoying what we're doing. We are actually being trained to be followers.

" I will not follow another man's vision " is an error designed to keep us from our destiny.

You cannot eventually be a good leader if you have not learned in the school of being a follower. When we follow and serve others, we learn to be a good leader. We learn what to do and perhaps more importantly what not to do. You cannot be a good leader if you have never been a good follower.

"If you're not Leading, you better be Following."

"You are NOT the exception to the rule."
