At least coffee 63 or Minorities have always been here
Our culture is characterized by wanting to protect some minorities. That is good, but let us ask ourselves how long these minorities have been here and how they have always been treated.
Putting aside the utterly phantasmagorical notion that the poor as a minority were oppressed by the nobility as a majority, which is not true anyway, we have to think about the actual minorities who had different conditions in different countries.
The most fundamental minority were the Jews. After being expelled from the “Promised Land” they wandered around Europe in various ways trying to make a living somewhere. Since in Catholic Europe the Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus, they did not have it easy. It is known that in some times they were not allowed to work in various trades. And that left them with the banking business. It was not their voluntary choice, but they were forced into it by their opponents and sometimes persecutors. It must be admitted that they managed banking very well, and were able to profit handsomely from their ignorance. Only from time to time, when their debtor was both too indebted and too powerful, they ended up on a scrap heap somewhere with a pierced heart. Which was not punished because it was “just a Jew”.
In addition to banking, they also handled business, where they sometimes again paid for their usury by simply getting slaughtered by people in pogroms.
Despite the fact that Jews were a minority hated because of their faith, they still managed to make it as industrialists in many places. In contrast, another minority that appeared in Europe has not been able to change its customs to this day. Yes, these are the lowest Indian caste, the gypsies. They have always been used to doing nothing but travelling and stealing. That's why they were even more despised than the Jews. With a Jew it was even possible to have a conversation, to go shopping with him, to borrow money from him, with a Gypsy nothing like that was out of the question. In fact, I'm so aware that nowhere was it ever written about where they actually got their money. The exception was the gypsy psychics who could read their hands for a penny. And that probably wouldn't be enough for a band to buy a wagon, a horse, clothes.
Even the non-believers were minorities. In our predominantly Roman Catholic country, Protestants and other “apostates” were persecuted in such a way that Protestant noble families were expelled and the peasantry forcibly recatholized. But it must be objectively admitted that at the time of the Hussite rebellions, the persecuted minorities were precisely Roman Catholic priests, monks and believers.
In the Czech lands there was also the paradox that in the Czech border territories, which were mostly inhabited by German settlers, discrimination against minority Czechs occurred.
Only the end of the Second World War brought about a change. At that time, minorities began to be regarded somewhat more leniently. Although after February 1948 another persecuted minority arose here, the tradesmen and opponents of the communist regime. But the attitude towards Jews and partly towards Gypsies changed.
Another change came after November 1989. Unfortunately, a rather unpleasant change. Today it is not the minorities who are restricted, but on the contrary the majority of people are constantly attacked for a kind of ostracisation and discrimination against minorities. For some activists, this has become quite a livelihood. The homosexual minority is preferred over the heterosexual majority, transsexuals have more space over people who are aware that God or nature, take your pick, created only Man and Woman.
Well, another enemy has emerged. People who disagree with the current government are attacked, often not just verbally. And again, they are fired from their jobs or even thrown in jail for voicing their opinion in public. The situation has come to the point where the truth is being suppressed and the official position is lies. The state is currently usurped by a group of psychopaths under the leadership of a strategic communicator, read censor-in-chief.
Yes, we have democracy. And so we need to use it and take our country back into our own hands, the hands of the majority, and give the minorities the space they are due. Let them live, but not let them influence the lives of the majority. Because otherwise it is a government by the will of the majority but the rule of the minority.
