Introduction to my favourite 60 ZX Spectrum games.
Many of the top 50 or 100 spectrum games lists are based on personal preferences, while others are based on what publications consider to be the greatest games at that time.

My list, though, will be rather different. First of all, I not doing a subjective best games list. My list will be 60 games, arranged alphabetically, that I liked playing and owned as a kid.

There won't be any revisionary history going on, some might not like their versions of the games I had from back then. Others may cry that my list may be missing a game they liked.

So don't get your knickers in a twist. The list consist from the perspective of my mind-set as a child growing up in the 80s. I detested several cult classics, such as many football games, Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, and Hunchback as a kid.

I apologize to Monty, Steve Davis, Bubble Bobble, and Rainbow Island, I would have loved to seen them on my list, but I refused to sacrifice any games for them. Sometimes looking back at things you liked from your past can be cringey.

My list includes several early arcade classics from the late 1970s and early 1980s. I played most of these early arcade ports on my first Spectrum. There are some cultural elements on my list.

They act like a time capsule of growing up in the UK during the 1980s, with popular board games and children's TV series during these years. These 60 games are representation of my childhood. There are some types of games on my list I haven't played since.
