Build Me An Altar & Ill Rescue Your Land
Our Season of Transition: Building Prayer Altars to Transform Our Nations
Good morning, everyone, and a blessed Victoria Day to all of you. While we don't celebrate Queen Victoria herself, we do thank her for the holiday that allows us to pause, reflect, and prepare for the new season God is ushering in. Today, I want to share with you a powerful message about the season of transition we find ourselves in, the spiritual warfare at hand, and the divine strategy of establishing prayer altars to reclaim our nations for God’s kingdom.
Recognizing the Season of Change
This Victoria Day marks many firsts for us—new perspectives, new attitudes, and a fresh anointing. I see it in my friends around me: Shirley looking directly into the camera, Russ wearing a different hat after years, and even myself starting softly and quietly in worship. These changes are not random; they are signs of a season of transformation, a shift from one realm to another.
We are living in a time where everything is in flux. The world is moving fast, and so must we. Even as I speak, I feel the Lord’s strong affirmation: we are in a season of transition. It’s a time to embrace change, to prepare for the next wave of growth and expansion. This is not a time for fear or hesitation, but for faith and boldness.
Staying Focused on the King
With so much going on around us—political upheaval, social unrest, and spiritual battles—we must keep our eyes fixed on the King. Like Kat reminded her grandchildren, our focus must remain on Jesus. Worship Him with gladness, shout with joy to the Lord, and enter His gates with thanksgiving. This joy and praise are not just acts of worship; they are weapons of spiritual warfare that establish our authority and bring peace in the midst of storms.
Peace is the key word today. The Lord says, "Peace, be still." We don’t need to fear the waves or storms around us because they are only waves. Our faith must rise up, and we must claim the peace that Jesus offers.
The Spiritual Battle and Our Authority
The spiritual battlefield is real, and God has equipped us with authority to stand firm. We are called to operate in the power of our identity as children of God, rebuking evil wherever we see it, binding darkness, and loosing righteousness. This is not about making a spectacle but about exercising spiritual authority quietly and confidently.
When we witness evil or deception—whether in government, media, or social platforms—we must boldly say, “I bind that. I rebuke that in the name of Jesus Christ.” This is activating the body of Christ. It’s about each of us taking our place, whether we are in Vancouver, Halifax, New Hampshire, or Waterdown, and declaring God’s righteousness over our land.
Unity in Prayer and Action
Imagine thousands of believers across the nation standing together in this spiritual authority. It doesn’t matter if we are not physically together at the same time. Our collective voices, lifting up prayers and declarations, create a powerful net that covers the land. This unity is essential because darkness cannot withstand the light that shines when God’s people come together in agreement.
The Vision of the Ministry and the Change of Assignment
God is taking us off the battlefield and moving us into a new place of kingly and priestly anointing—a place of reigning and rulership. This is a change of assignment, not just for me personally but for all of us gathered here. The enemy has tried for years to quash our confidence and kill our passion, but we are still standing. This season of preparation is leading us into a new dimension of ministry and influence.
I had a dream recently that illustrated this transition. In the dream, I was driving a powerful car up a steep parking garage ramp, struggling to get to the top. After gaining momentum, the car went airborne and landed safely. Then, astonishingly, I watched my car self-drive up seven levels, finally stopping at the top where it was serviced. This dream symbolizes the ministry’s journey—sometimes struggling, sometimes soaring, but always moving into a place of greater stability and preparation for the next wave of growth.
Preparing for Expansion
God is inspecting and adjusting the ministry, preparing us for expansion. This is a time of inner overhaul, both personally and corporately. The enemy’s attacks are not meant to break us but to refine and ready us for the glorious future ahead. This moment is a sign that we are about to take off like never before.
The Power of Prayer Altars: A Strategy for National Transformation
Now, I want to share a powerful testimony from Uganda that reveals a divine strategy God is calling us to embrace. Uganda faced tremendous challenges: political turmoil, violence, and the devastating AIDS pandemic. Through prayer and fasting, the church sought God’s intervention and learned that change must begin within the people before it can take root in governments or systems.
The church realized that without spiritual momentum and unity, darkness would continue to creep back into society. They had to build altars of prayer across the nation—unified networks of believers coming together beyond denominational lines to create an atmosphere for God’s presence to move and judgment to be stayed.
The Vision of the Net
John Melendez, a leader in Uganda, received a vision of a fishing net too heavy to pull alone. He was instructed to call all ministries and denominations to unite and pull together. When the net was finally lifted, it revealed a rock shaped like Uganda—a symbol of the nation’s foundation and destiny. God told him that this net of unified prayer would conquer the evil principality ruling the nation.
This vision is not just for Uganda; it is for us. Canada, America, Mexico—all need a network of united prayer altars. We must celebrate our differences as denominations and ministries, recognizing that each brings a unique anointing. Together, in unity of purpose, we can establish a powerful corporate anointing to push back the darkness.
Every Believer Is an Altar
God is calling every individual Christian to be a prayer altar. Your home, your workplace, your community—these are your altars. You don’t need to wait for a building or a formal gathering. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and your prayers establish legal ground for God to work in your land.
Legal ground is a profound concept. While God owns the earth, He requires our invitation to intervene in our nations. Like a landlord who owns a property but must be given permission to enter, God waits for us to give Him legal authority through our prayers and declarations.
The Abrahamic Strategy: Taking the Land
God reminded me of the strategy He gave Abraham: to walk through the land He was giving him and set up altars along the way. This is the same strategy for us. We are to go north, south, east, and west across our nations, setting up prayer altars and calling on the names of the Lord.
Each of us is both the altar and the altar builder, calling on the names of God—Adonai, Jehovah, Elion, Shaddai, Elohim, and more—expecting Him to answer. This network of altars creates an atmosphere where God can work, defend, and restore our lands.
Faith in Action: Claiming Our Nations
As we walk and pray over our land, we claim every place we set our feet for God’s glory. This is not about personal gain but about representing God’s kingdom on earth. The promises God gave Abraham are ours too: to be prosperous, numerous, and victorious over the enemy.
We must develop the habit of declaring God’s promises wherever we go. This is how we establish spiritual authority and legal ground for God’s intervention. Our faith, united in prayer and action, will push back darkness and bring about transformation.
Moving Forward in Unity and Obedience
God is calling us to build this network of prayer altars across our nations. We will work with other believers from all denominations, recognizing that no single ministry or church can do this alone. Together, we can overcome the evil principality and establish God’s kingdom in our lands.
This is a corporate call to action. Whether you are new to this journey or have been here for a long time, God is expanding our assignments and inviting us into new realms of influence. Our obedience, faith, and unity will bring forth the next great move of God.
Conclusion: A Call to Action and Thanksgiving
As we enter this new season, let us come before the Lord with thanksgiving and praise. “Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!” This is our instruction and our privilege. In thanksgiving, we open the gates for God’s grace and favor to flow. In praise, we enter His courts and receive His blessings.
We are not victims of circumstance but victorious pioneers called to run with boldness. The inner overhaul is preparing us for expansion. The spiritual altars we build individually and corporately are the keys to unlocking God’s power over our nations.
So, put on your boots, pioneers. Get ready to run like never before. The Lord’s promises are sure, His love endures forever, and His faithfulness continues to every generation. Together, let us rise up, establish prayer altars, and claim our land for the Kingdom of God. Happy Victoria Day, and may God bless you abundantly.
