Pope Leo XIV greets world leaders after his Inaugural Mass

Pope Leo XIV presided over his first mass in St. Peter’s Basilica on Sunday.
Vice President JD Vance led the attending US delegation along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Following the service, the newly elected Pope greeted many world leaders. Those who attended included the prime ministers of Canada and Australia, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
