We are in a very strange time in Canada. After going through a very contentious federal election the new Carney Government has announced that there will be no Federal 2025 Budget. Therefore, Canadians are not able to have their elected representatives vote on the government's spending priorities. Parliamentary oversight of government spending ranks as Parliament's top responsibility. "Taxation with representation," was the rallying cry of many political upheavals throughout history.
