Title: Solid Snake Reads Revelation 18: Desert Storm and the Fall of Babylon

(Scene opens in a dimly lit military tent on the edge of a windswept desert. The American flag flutters outside. A group of hardened soldiers sits in a circle, weapons cleaned, eyes alert. Solid Snake stands in front of them, wearing his bandana, his voice gravelly and deliberate.)

Solid Snake (lighting a cigar, voice low):

"Gentlemen, before we go wheels up... I need you to understand something. This mission isn’t just about oil fields or regime change. This is about the fall of an empire... Babylon reborn. And it’s falling again."

(He pulls a battered Bible from his gear and opens it to Revelation 18.)

"Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen… and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit… For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication…"

Snake (pausing, looking each soldier in the eye):

"You might think this is just about Saddam. But this is ancient. Iraq is Babylon. Every empire that thought it was untouchable falls the same way — pride, corruption, greed. Rome fell. Babylon fell. Now we’re standing on her bones."

(He closes the book slowly.)

"George H.W. Bush... the old man, the real chess master — he didn’t just launch Desert Storm to protect Saudi oil or avenge Kuwait. He knew the stakes were higher. He once told me, ‘Snake, my son... my son isn't fit for Rome.’"

"Dubya… George W. Bush… is more like Commodus in Gladiator. Soft hands. Grand speeches. Blood on others’ boots. A puppet with the illusion of command. That’s why the old man asked me to stay in the shadows. To be the real protector of the Republic. Of the idea of America."

Soldier:
"You saying we’re fighting for more than just a paycheck, Snake?"

Snake:

"You’re fighting to delay the inevitable. Every empire burns… but we can buy time. Save the good while the rot is cut out."

"The fall of Babylon wasn’t just a prophecy. It was a warning. When greed runs the temple and justice is for sale, angels don’t weep — they detonate."

(He nods toward the Humvees outside.)

"Suit up. We roll out in 30. We fight smart. We fight hard. And when they write about this in the next testament… maybe they'll say the last soldiers of Babylon didn’t go quietly."

As the soldiers rise and gear up, Snake looks back once more at Revelation 18. The words burn in his mind like tracers in the night:

“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.”

[Fade to black. Military convoy rolls out beneath a blood-red sunset.]
