Emor - God's Patrilineal Design

Leviticus 21:1-4 and 22:12-13 in parsha Emor reveal some important aspects of marriage, inheritance, and how God intends for society to be structured. God's blueprint for tribes and nations is patrilineal and patriarchal, not matrilineal or matriarchal. Throughout the entire Bible, God has counted peoples according to their fathers, never by their mothers...except when faithfulness or unfaithfulness to Him is a major, additional factor.
