Wind has a huge impact on accuracy and precision. We can make the best cartridges and have awesome control behind the rifle, but wind can easily put all that effort to shame in a split second. It's the bane of many a hunter and competitor. Today's video is a basic overview of wind…what affects it, how to read and adjust for it, and how to position yourself to avoid it. Topics discussed include the effects of temperature and terrain, assessing wind velocity with mirage and foliage, wind vector values in relation to line of sight, windage formulas (Range Minus One, Marine Corps Formula, Simple Windage Adjustment, BC Wind Formula), and preferred shooter positioning.
