A Little Perspective on Suffering – I Pet. 3:13-22

What do you think of when I mention suffering? It's an interesting concept because it is so relative. An experience you might define as suffering could be barely a blip on someone else's radar. The thing about suffering is that it is heavily influenced by perspective. Change your perspective and you might very well change your view of suffering.

Changing our perspective is the proposal I want to make to you with today's study. God has a purpose in suffering. Rather than wallowing in the misery of suffering, or even begging to be released from it, maybe a better option is to seek to understand God's perspective. If we can adopt his perspective, suffering becomes an experience to rejoice in. It becomes a tool by which God can reach others through our witness.
