FAA Reauthorization One Year Later: Aviation Safety, Air Traffic, and Next Generation Technology

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, will convene a full committee hearing titled “FAA Reauthorization One Year Later: Aviation Safety, Air Traffic, and Next Generation Technology” on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST. This hearing will examine both the progress achieved and any delays encountered in implementing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2024.

May 16, 2025, marks the first anniversary of this significant bipartisan legislation and the deadline for executing many of its key provisions. The FAA has successfully fulfilled the requirements of over 70 sections of the law and continues working to implement the remaining provisions. During the hearing, FAA representatives will report on the current status of implementation and offer insights into necessary next steps to ensure the law is fully carried out.
