The California Central coast got his with a storm surge and a king tide in 2023 where some areas saw sleeper waves and rogue waves far inland from normal.

CORRECTION, this was San Luis Obispo County, not Ventura County.

The RV'ers and campers at Oceano Dunes park in Pismo Beach got ravaged by waves, destroying many RVs and trucks along the way. Many had to be rescued.
