Charisma Magazine, under Stephen Strang’s leadership, has once again chosen platform protection over victim advocacy. In their recent article, they framed the closing of the Daystar investigation as a spiritual victory—ignoring the painful and unresolved reality behind it. Strang handed Joni Lamb a microphone to shift the narrative from potential abuse to persecution, weaponizing spiritual warfare language to paint critics as enemies of the Gospel. This isn’t discernment—it’s manipulation.

Adding to the insult, Malachi O’Brien jumped in with celebratory rhetoric, posting “Great news. The spirit of accusation failed.” Failed? The investigation wasn’t dismissed because the claims were proven false—it was closed without charges because the child has not yet spoken. To mock survivors and insinuate this is some triumph over falsehood is shameful. There is no victory when a child’s voice is still silent.

Suzy Lamb, the child’s mother, has made it clear: the case isn’t over—it’s waiting. Her testimony has been firm, consistent, and brave. She’s not launching a smear campaign; she’s protecting her daughter until she’s ready to speak. That is not slander—that’s love. And I believe her.

Julia Roys, through The Roys Report, reported what others wouldn’t: facts without spin. Her article didn’t declare guilt or innocence—it told the truth. Police found “insufficient evidence” to proceed—not exoneration. This is a distinction lost on those too eager to silence victims in favor of media empires and ministry brands.

There is a sickness in the church when media leaders rush to protect platforms instead of people. When pastors mock survivors to score points online, they reveal exactly why victims stay silent. The celebration of a closed case without justice is not Christianity—it’s cowardice dressed in spiritual jargon. We should be weeping—not applauding.
