Jehovah Jireh And The Building of Altars That Change Nations
Hello Friends, Today, I want to share with you a powerful message that has been stirring in my spirit—one that touches on the foundation of our faith, the provision of God, and the vital role we play in standing as altars of prayer and intercession in our world. This message is not just a reflection; it’s a call to action, an invitation to deepen your walk with God and to understand the magnitude of His provision in every area of your life. It’s about recognizing Jehovah Jireh, our God who provides all we need, and responding by building altars that can change nations.
Jehovah Jireh: The God Who Provides Everything
When we hear the name Jehovah Jireh, many of us think about provision in terms of finances—money for rent, bills, or food. But friends, Jehovah Jireh is so much more than that. He is the God who provides everything we need, in every area of life. I’ve seen His provision firsthand, from the darkest moments when I was suicidal to the heights of supernatural breakthroughs. He provided His presence to pull me back from the brink, led me to churches where I could build my foundation in scripture, and even orchestrated entrepreneurial ventures that soared beyond my expectations.
This provision is not random or limited; it’s divine orchestration. Whether it’s spiritual, emotional, physical, or financial, Jehovah Jireh knows exactly what you need and when you need it. He is not just a God who provides money—He provides peace, healing, direction, and strength. This morning, I praise God for the incredible team and the atmosphere of worship that lays the foundation for everything we do. The worship, the sanctification, the consecration—it’s all part of the altar we build together, and it’s a sweet aroma before God.
The Power of Worship and the Secret Place
Worship is not just singing songs or lifting hands; it’s creating an atmosphere where God’s presence can manifest. It’s the secret place—the altar of your life—where you encounter the Lord intimately. Psalm 23 beautifully describes this place:
"He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss. That's where he restores and revives my life."
This secret place is where the altar is activated. It’s where your spirit is rejuvenated, your heart is healed, and your faith is strengthened. When you make this your daily habit—your vice, if you will—you create a sanctuary for God’s presence, and nothing can stand against you. The altar is not just a physical place; it’s a lifestyle of consecration and intimacy with God.
Goodness and Mercy That Chase After You
There’s a profound truth in the Hebrew meaning of Psalm 23: the goodness and mercy of God don’t just follow us passively—they chase us down like a valiant horse galloping after its loved one. This image changes how we see God’s grace. It’s active, relentless, and powerful. His goodness and mercy are pursuing you right now, no matter what you’re facing. This truth is a balm for the lost, the lonely, the broken, and the afraid. It’s a reminder that God’s love is unending and unyielding.
Breaking Free from Addictions and Fear
Fear can be an addiction, just like any other destructive habit. I’ve encountered people trapped in fear, panic, and past wounds. One story that touched me deeply was of someone who had been living in constant fear for years, only to be set free through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. But then, the enemy tried to pull her back into old chains by feeding her fear through social media and past trauma.
God’s message to her—and to anyone struggling—is clear: "I gloriously and magnificently set you free by the power of my Holy Spirit and my unending love. So why go back to the chains I broke?" Friends, we must walk away from the pain and the past, leave it at the foot of the cross, and refuse to return to what once held us captive. The freedom God gives is real and lasting, but we have to choose it daily.
Standing in the Gap: Building Altars to Change Nations
We live in unprecedented times. Natural disasters, moral decay, economic crises, and spiritual battles are increasing worldwide. The family unit is breaking down, addictions and emotional struggles are rising, and the church is often compromised or ineffective. But God is calling us to stand in the gap—to be the altars where His presence dwells and where His power is released.
Ezekiel 22:30 says, "I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none." This is a call to each of us. We are those living stones, the altar stones that God is building into a wall of protection and blessing over our nations.
Building an altar is not about physical structures but about cultivating a lifestyle of prayer, worship, and obedience. It means creating an atmosphere that invites God’s presence to come and heal the land. When we do this, God promises to respond:
"Build me an altar, and I will remove the plague completely."
This promise is powerful. Whether it’s spiritual attacks, social upheaval, or natural disasters, God’s presence in the altar can bring restoration and peace.
The State of the Church and Our Role
We see churches closing, attendance dropping, and Christianity declining in some parts of the world. Yet, revival is breaking out in unexpected places. Thousands are coming to salvation in the UK and beyond, often unnoticed by the media. This is the time of Elijah, Ezekiel, and Amos—a time for the church to rise up as a light in the darkness.
Our lives are the new evangelism. They are mirrors reflecting God’s goodness and mercy before we even speak a word. When we live as altars, fully consecrated and filled with the Holy Spirit, people will be drawn to us and ask, “What is it you have?” And we can say, “You can have it too.”
The Danger of Counting Numbers and the Importance of Faithfulness
Like David, we might be tempted to measure success by numbers—how many attend, how many listen, how many follow. But God’s message is clear: Don’t count the numbers. Don’t promote yourself. Just be faithful. God will bring the right people to the altar organically. Our focus is obedience, not popularity.
David’s census displeased God because it revealed a reliance on human strength rather than divine provision. When judgment came, David repented deeply, and God showed mercy. This story reminds us that humility and repentance open the door for God’s intervention.
Creating an Atmosphere for God’s Presence
We must create environments where God can come in. This means pushing out sin, embracing holiness, and standing in the gap for our communities. The presence of God only comes to an altar that is attended to. That altar is our life, our heart, our prayer, and our worship.
When we consecrate ourselves as altars, God’s glory fills us, and His light pushes back the darkness. This is the strategy that changes nations. It’s not about political power or human schemes; it’s about spiritual authority and the presence of God in our midst.
Living in the Assurance of God’s Compassion and Strength
God’s compassion is deep and unwavering. He is the God of second chances, third chances, and more. He promises not to abandon us, no matter our past. His presence will be a constant in our lives, bringing peace and strength in every trial.
When you feel weak, remember that God has made you strong in your inner being. No spiritual attack can overcome you when you stand firm in Him. His saving grace is not just for eternity but for the here and now. He is manifesting in your situation, bringing healing, provision, and restoration.
Making the Secret Place Your Daily Habit
I encourage you to make the secret place your addiction—the place where you run to when life gets hard, where you find refreshment, and where you encounter God’s power. This is the altar of your life, and it is the key to walking in victory and peace.
Seek God earnestly, and you will find Him. Don’t just listen to messages or watch calls—get on your face, pray, worship, and build that altar daily. This is where the real transformation happens.
Conclusion: A Call to Build Altars and Walk in Victory
Friends, the world around us is shifting, but God’s promises remain sure. Jehovah Jireh is our provider in every way. His goodness and mercy chase us down relentlessly. We are called to be altars of prayer, worship, and obedience, creating environments where God’s presence can manifest and change nations.
Stand firm, build your altar, and walk in the assurance of God’s provision and protection. Let your life be a testimony of His power, love, and faithfulness. The days of revival are here—let’s embrace them with open hearts and unwavering faith.
Thank you for joining me in this journey. May God bless you richly as you seek Him and build your altar for His glory.
