Robert is a Canadian/Australian singer/songwriter and was born and raised on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada. In the small communities of New Jersey and Barryville, which were a breeding ground for folk and country songs written from the heart and soul about life. His passion for country music came from hearing his Mamma (Betty) singing around the house and listening to traditional and country music at local dances and socials. These songs became the basis of his music today.
His life and music have been influenced by serving in the Canadian Army for over 11 years, traveling coast to coast in Canada then serving overseas for 3 and a half years. He was provided a life changing opportunity and moved to Australia in 2009 and became a dual citizen in 2014.
Robert launched his debut album in Australia in 2019, entitled “IT’S NEVER TOO LATE", consisting of 10 original songs written and composed by him. The album highlights his influences by country greats, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis and Sawyer Brown, with a touch of good ole Rock n' Roll. A total of six singles were released.
His song "Jack Daniels" reached #1 on the charts in Australia and "Driving Me Insane" and "Don't You Cry" reached #1 on International Indie charts. "Don't You Cry" was nominated for Single of the Year at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville, 2021 and "Jack Daniels"" made the top 40 radio play for 2021 in Australia. In October 2023, sponsorship was provided by a local Nashville producer. Robert took the leap of faith, then reconnected with Canadian Artist/Producer Gil Grand in Nashville and began writing/recording his second album entitled "BETTER WITH TIME", a compilation of 10 original songs written or co-written by him and Mr Grand.
On July 26 2024, two singles were released (“Drink Em Down" and "Mamma's Song") in the USA, Australia, and Europe. “Drink Em Down” hit number one on two independent charts in the USA, hit the top 10 in the UK and Europe and also hit the top 40 in Australia. Also it has been nominated for several awards at the Red carpet awards in Europe in September 2025. He will also be performing at the awards show. Mamma's Song Has hit the top 40 on the christian charts and has been nominated for several awards at the voices of Gospel awards in May 2025
In January 2025 he released his latest single and title track from his current album Better With Time, which is currently tracking very well at radio and on streaming platforms. It has also been nominated in the prestigious Independent Josie Music Awards in Nashville this September. He will be releasing his latest single People like me on May 16th, a great summer/party song.
When not in Nashville writing, recording or showcasing, Robert splits his time touring throughout the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
