E9.4 - Deconstructing Light Speed. Ask Us Whatever.

Joe Sorge describes an experiment done in our studios where columnated laser light was passed through a tube of glass and the pattern of stimulated pixels was recorded on a CMOS chip target. No change was found in the stimulated pixel pattern regardless of the time of day or the orientation of the experimental setup in the studio. In this episode, Joe derives formulas that describe the velocity of light as a function of the angle between the direction of the light signal and the direction of the earth's motion through space. Joe addresses topics such as the momentum of light, Snell's law, aberration, and reasons why it would not be impossible for light to have mass.
