ESW Eurasia Editor Stanislav Krapivnik received a press pass to watch the День Победы / Victory Day parade through Red Square on May 9. He also spoke with RT.com for a segment about American and European vs Russian perceptions of World War II and how it came to be that the Russians and most former Soviet nations plus emerging Asian powers celebrate the end of WW2 in Europe on the 9th rather than the 8th of May. The 80th anniversary of the Soviet and Allied victory over Nazi Germany saw Chinese President Xi Jinping sitting next to Russian President Vladimir Putin and a People's Liberation Army delegation participate in the Russians parade of troops. Putin also visibly congratulated a delegation of generals from the North Korean People's Army (NKPA) on their recent combat successes driving Ukrainian forces out of pre-war Russian territory, fighting alongside the Russian Army in Kursk Oblast.

As a former US Army officer who served in an armored unit in Bosnia, Stas also discussed with RT how the US fell behind Russia and China in hypersonic precision strike missile technology.

All in all this is a very interesting segment that packs a lot into nine minutes and fifteen seconds of discussion.
