A former Michigan National Guard member, Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, was arrested for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at the Detroit Arsenal's TACOM on behalf of ISIS. Said, who served in the Guard until December 2024, reportedly collaborated with undercover FBI agents, providing them with materials and training for the attack. The plot was foiled on May 13, 2025, when Said was apprehended near the base with a drone. He faces charges of attempting to support a foreign terrorist organization and distributing destructive device information, with potential penalties of up to 20 years in prison per count.
